These beautiful little seed pods are actually the fruit of a Chinese evergreen. They exude a beautiful aniseed aroma and flavour despite not been related to the anise plant whatsoever. Their sweet, liquorice flavour compliments meat dishes as well as sweet desserts too.

When using the Star Anise whole, they can be effective when infused in tea or as part of a soup or broth. After combining with your soup or tea, remove the seeds before drinking. Their aromatic flavour will still remain once removed.
